Tensys Medical - Customer Case Study

Tensys Medical, founded to develop the T-Line Tensymeter—the first continuous, non-invasive arterial blood pressure management system—needed to accelerate development and avoid time-consuming prototype iterations for complex, flexible plastic parts. To shorten its design cycle and validate stress-critical geometries, Tensys turned to SolidWorks and its integrated SolidWorks Simulation within the SolidWorks CAD environment.

By using SolidWorks Simulation (alongside SolidWorks Standard, Professional and Workgroup PDM), Tensys virtually tested and refined an olefin-based serpentine wrist arm, eliminating prototype development and rapidly optimizing the design. SolidWorks enabled a 60% shorter design cycle, reduced material and manufacturing costs, improved flexibility and reliability, and helped Tensys Medical bring the T-Line Tensymeter to market as the first product of its kind with strong clinical reception.
