Team Witch Doctor Developing Battling Robots With Personality and Pizazz With Solidworks Solutions

Team Witch Doctor is a BattleBots competitor that needed to design and build tougher, faster, and more attractive battling robots on tight schedules and budgets to stay competitive on the TV series. To meet that challenge they partnered with SolidWorks, using its CAD, simulation, and visualization tools (including topology optimization) under a sponsorship to speed design and development.

SolidWorks supplied software licenses and simulation tools that let Team Witch Doctor iterate more than 20 versions per season, run topology studies to cut about five pounds while improving strength and stiffness, and refine aesthetics and team branding. The SolidWorks-enabled workflow helped the team reach the 2019 final, produce lighter, stronger parts, and engage fans and future engineers.
