Taking airdrop assembly instructions to a new level with SolidWorks Composer

Wamore, Inc., an Arizona manufacturer that supplies airdrop systems (supporting delivery of payloads up to 42,000 pounds) to the U.S. military, struggled to produce clear, up-to-date assembly instructions using photo-based documentation. To address delays, rework after design changes, and frequent shop-floor questions, Wamore, Inc. turned to SolidWorks and specifically adopted SolidWorks Composer technical communication software alongside its existing SolidWorks design and PDM tools.

Using SolidWorks Composer to link assembly documentation directly to the 3D model (and integrating with SolidWorks Enterprise PDM), Wamore, Inc. automated instruction creation, cut development time by 85% (from about two weeks to ~1.5 days), and ensured instructions update automatically with design changes. SolidWorks Composer also improved informational quality, substantially reduced assembly questions on the shop floor, and enabled customer-facing animations and mobile-accessible documentation for field use.
