Taking Aerial Work Platform Design to New Heights With SolidWorks Solutions

SOCAGE, an Italian designer and manufacturer of truck‑mounted aerial work platforms, needed to develop lighter, more compact products while shortening design cycles, improving quality, and ensuring user safety. To modernize its workflow after moving off 2D AutoCAD, SOCAGE selected SolidWorks solutions — including SolidWorks Professional, SolidWorks Premium, SolidWorks Simulation Professional, SolidWorks Enterprise PDM and SolidWorks Composer — for integrated 3D design, analysis, data management and technical communication.

SolidWorks implemented an integrated solution that automated drafting and configuration management, enabled structural and kinematic simulation, and centralized product data and documentation. As a result, SOCAGE shortened development cycles and time-to-market, increased the number of projects handled annually, improved accuracy and reliability with fewer prototype errors, and cut spare‑parts documentation costs by 50%.
