Case Study: Robert Bosch LLC achieves standardized 3D manufacturing, 20% faster fixture changes and 500% faster ECAD-MCAD integration with SOLIDWORKS

A SolidWorks Case Study

Preview of the Robert Bosch Case Study

Supporting a global manufacturing enterprise with solidworks solutions

Robert Bosch needed to transition manufacturing and machine design from 2D to 3D while supporting a variety of existing CAD systems across its global operations. After a successful pilot, Robert Bosch selected SolidWorks (deploying SOLIDWORKS Standard/Professional/Premium, SOLIDWORKS Simulation suites, and SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM) to provide interoperable 3D design, analysis, and data-management tools companywide.

SolidWorks implemented a standardized 3D platform plus open-API integrations (notably CircuitWorks with Zuken and automated PDM-to-SAP workflows), enabling rapid fixture redesign and process automation. The SolidWorks solution reduced fixture change-out time by at least 20%, delivered a 500% time savings in electrical–mechanical design integration, supported standardization on one platform, and expanded the user base from 11 to over 3,000.
