Streamlining the Development of Recycling Facilities With Solidworks

CP Manufacturing, a leading designer and manufacturer of material recovery (recycling) facilities since 1977, needed to shorten design-to-operation cycles as demand for custom plants grew. To move from 2D to an integrated 3D platform and improve configurability, reuse, and accuracy, CP Manufacturing implemented SolidWorks solutions including SolidWorks Professional and Premium (design and analysis), SolidWorks Enterprise PDM (product data management), and SolidWorks Composer (technical communication).

Using SolidWorks, CP Manufacturing set up configurable master models and sheet‑metal tools, automated repetitive tasks and workflows with Enterprise PDM, and generated manuals and visuals with Composer. The results were measurable: overall design time was cut in half (design cycles shortened from weeks to days), release cycles dropped from up to two weeks to a single day, design errors were reduced, workflows automated, and the Engineering department became 100% paperless — all enabled by SolidWorks.
