Streamlining development of replacement electronics for nuclear power plants with SOLIDWORKS PCB

Labun Nuclear Technologies designs modern digital replacements for decades‑old analog electronics used in nuclear power plants and needed to accelerate and streamline printed circuit board (PCB) development while avoiding time‑consuming file conversions and extra costs. To solve compatibility and workflow delays between mechanical and electronic design, Labun adopted SolidWorks Professional together with SolidWorks PCB (powered by Altium) to integrate PCB and mechanical design work.

By adding SolidWorks PCB to its SolidWorks environment, Labun was able to release its first PCB for production within 48 hours, eliminate physical prototype boards (avoiding roughly $600 per sample) and save thousands of dollars annually, while improving late‑stage changes, unified BOM generation, and portability for on‑site design work. SolidWorks’ integrated tools removed crashes and data‑transfer delays, speeding turnaround and increasing accuracy across Labun’s replacement electronics projects.
