A SolidWorks Case Study
VYGON, a global designer and manufacturer of single‑use sterile medical and surgical devices, faced long approval cycles, costly late design rework and limited understanding of fluid behavior in its products — issues that risked months of marketing delay and regulatory setbacks. To regain control of tooling and better predict fluid performance, VYGON adopted SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD along with SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation and SOLIDWORKS Plastics for design and analysis.
Using SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation to optimize fluid channels (notably for the Boussignac CPAP®) and SOLIDWORKS Plastics to validate injection‑molding choices, VYGON cut iteration time dramatically, achieved greater consistency between plans and manufactured parts, and reduced physical testing and mold rework by 20%. SOLIDWORKS enabled approval of complex configurations in about 3 days instead of 3 weeks and fewer study‑to‑test cycles, accelerating time to market and improving product reliability.
