A SolidWorks Case Study
The Sports Car Club of America faced the high-pressure challenge of competing for National Championships at the SCCA Run-offs held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where race-day reliability, pit logistics and in-race communication would determine season outcomes. SolidWorks was represented onsite by Senior Area Technical Manager Mike Sabocheck, providing SOLIDWORKS technical expertise and hands-on support to help Team JBS prepare, check systems, and manage the complex logistics of a 19-lap race on a large, modern circuit.
SolidWorks’ practical support—pre-race preparation, pit organization, radio/checklist coordination and track monitoring—helped the team perform under pressure: teammate Chris Dryden earned a podium with a 2nd-place finish, Kevin moved up to 9th after a penalty to another driver, and the team secured a top-10 season finale while identifying winter improvements. SolidWorks’ involvement delivered measurable race results, stronger team cohesion, and actionable insights for future car development.
