A SolidWorks Case Study
S.G.A. (Società Gomma Antivibrante SRL), a leading manufacturer of anti-vibration components for railway, tram, and subway vehicles, needed a more efficient way to run nonlinear large-displacement simulations and analyze the behavior of rubber and elastomer parts. The company wanted to speed up product development while maintaining the safety and reliability required for mission-critical applications. SolidWorks’ SIMULIAworks FEA was the product/service used.
SolidWorks implemented SIMULIAworks, which uses the SIMULIA Abaqus solver and integrates directly with SOLIDWORKS, allowing S.G.A. to run accurate multistep, multiphysics, and nonlinear analyses without repeatedly remeshing or duplicating geometry changes. The result was fewer prototypes, shorter lead times from design to final production, and lower prototyping and fine-tuning costs. S.G.A. also validated the simulation accuracy against an existing finalized project, confirming results comparable to traditional prototyping.
