Revamping Conveyor/separator System Design With Solidworks

Crizaf, an Italian manufacturer of custom conveyor, separator, filling and weighing systems, faced design-data compatibility problems and poor teamwork using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, which lengthened design cycles and delivery times. To address these challenges, Crizaf standardized on SolidWorks in 2015, implementing SolidWorks Standard and SolidWorks Professional to enable collaborative 3D design and easier reuse of legacy data.

SolidWorks enabled Crizaf to better leverage AutoCAD 2D data, make late-stage changes more easily, and foster team collaboration, cutting development time and time-to-market by 15–20% and raising design reuse by 15%. The move with SolidWorks also improved product accuracy and quality and let Crizaf include preliminary 3D designs in proposals, enhancing customer communication and overall agility.
