Reimagining Guitars As Art Pieces With 3D Creator Xdesign App

Lava Drops, a custom guitar maker, needed a faster, more collaborative way to design highly original instruments made from exotic materials and tailored for high-profile musicians like Jack White. To support this challenge, SolidWorks and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform were used to help the team develop and manage guitar concepts in a modern, digital product development environment.

SolidWorks enabled Lava Drops to speed up concept development with the 3D Creator xDesign app and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and design from any device through a web browser. The result was the successful creation of standout signature guitars, including the Lava Drop X showcased at SOLIDWORKS World 2018, helping Lava Drops bring one-of-a-kind instruments to life more efficiently and expand its range of innovative designs.
