A SolidWorks Case Study
NuQuest, led by industrial designer Janson Pace, needed a way to design complex, fabrication-ready products quickly and affordably — from custom automation to a competition-grade skeleton sled — while minimizing costly physical prototypes. To solve that challenge they turned to SolidWorks software for 3D modeling, visualization and design validation.
By running roughly 95% of their projects through SolidWorks, NuQuest virtualizes assemblies, tests component fit and produces fabrication-ready drawings, cutting prototyping time and cost. The SolidWorks-driven workflow enabled NuQuest to design and deliver an Olympic skeleton sled in four months (used during the 2009–2010 season and Vancouver trials), win numerous jobs with accurate customer models, and significantly accelerate their design-to-build cycle.
