A SolidWorks Case Study
Montech AG, a Swiss automation innovator founded in 1963, faced growing demand for individualized 3D designs and needed to integrate customers’ CAD data into new developments while maintaining modular standard components. To move beyond 2D AutoCAD and give sales and engineering better control of customer-specific solutions, Montech turned to SolidWorks, adopting SolidWorks Standard and SolidWorks eDrawings Professional (and leveraging 3DVIA Composer for technical communications).
SolidWorks enabled Montech to switch to a forward-looking 3D CAD environment with motion animations to validate function, continuous communication via eDrawings for project meetings and customer presentations, and 3DVIA Composer to automate assembly instructions. As a result, Montech improved user-friendliness and 3D visibility, sped up unit compilation through its parts library, maintained clear development communication, and ensured intact delivery of packaged payloads of up to 40,000 pounds.
