Max-D - Customer Case Study

Max-D partnered with SolidWorks to help build an over-the-top Monster Jam-inspired wheelchair costume for Jonah through the Magic Wheelchair nonprofit. The challenge was to create a highly detailed mini-Max-D on a tight deadline, with accurate scale, complex curves, custom spikes, facial details, and integrated lighting, all while minimizing trial and error and working within a rapid build schedule.

SolidWorks supported the team by using CAD and virtual prototyping in SOLIDWORKS to test design ideas before fabrication, helping them move straight from design to production and reduce rework. The team used SOLIDWorks-driven design decisions for custom foam parts, paper cone prototypes, and machined components, enabling faster progress on the build and a more precise final costume for Jonah.
