Case Study: Wittur achieves 20+ hours/day time savings and €184K/year cost reduction with SolidWorks (via EXALEAD OnePart)

A SolidWorks Case Study

Preview of the Wittur Case Study

Leveraging EXALEAD® OnePart to manage diverse data across the globe and increase part reuse

Wittur, a global supplier of elevator components, faced fragmented engineering data after multiple acquisitions and struggled to find up-to-date 2D/3D drawings and avoid duplicate parts. Their geometry was stored in SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional, and Wittur needed a consolidated, searchable system to increase part reuse and reduce time wasted hunting through legacy SQL databases. SolidWorks (via SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional) is referenced as the core geometry repository in their environment.

To solve this, Wittur deployed EXALEAD OnePart to index SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional and other legacy databases, creating a single, geography‑aware search portal that shows metadata, drawing history and preview thumbnails even when users lack download permissions. The result: engineers save more than 20 hours per day (about €184,000 annually), fewer redundant parts are created through improved reuse, and about 100 users are already benefiting with plans to scale—while SolidWorks’ PDM remains central to the integrated solution.
