Launching Next-generation Clean Technologies With Solidworks Solutions

Greentown Labs, Inc., the leading incubator for clean-technology start-ups, faced the challenge of giving early-stage companies affordable access to advanced design, simulation, and visualization tools needed to speed R&D, prototyping, and manufacturing. After surveying its community, Greentown Labs standardized on the SOLIDWORKS product development platform from SolidWorks because it was familiar to members, easy to use, and covered the full range of engineering needs.

SolidWorks made its SOLIDWORKS solutions available across the Greentown Labs community and supported training (via reseller CADD Edge) so member start-ups could tap into design, simulation, and visualization tools as their projects grew in complexity. The implementation helped accelerate prototype development, improve design communication, and support the creation of innovative clean technologies; to date Greentown Labs has served 76 start-ups, with 41 currently working on clean technologies at its site.
