A SolidWorks Case Study
KYNTEC Corporation, founded by veterans in kinetic energy absorption, launched a range of shock absorbers, hydraulic damping equipment, rate controllers and recoil management systems but faced the challenge of staying lean while meeting rapid certification, quality and delivery expectations. To establish repeatable design and workflow processes they standardized on SolidWorks Professional for 3D design and SolidWorks Enterprise PDM (EPDM) for product data and workflow management.
Using SolidWorks and EPDM, KYNTEC implemented automated workflows and revision control that let the team create multiple product lines in a year, build product families in as little as two weeks, and release major families at roughly two per month. SolidWorks-enabled efficiencies helped KYNTEC deliver engineered “specials” two to three times faster than competitors and sustain rapid growth without adding headcount.
