Lan | Abar Handling Technologies Do Lean Manufacturing with SOLIDWORKS

Lan | Abar Handling Technologies, a Netherlands-based specialist in the design, construction and installation of handling systems for sterile pharmaceutical packaging, needed a lean, error‑free assembly process that kept critical CAD information available on the shop floor. To meet that challenge they turned to SolidWorks, adopting SolidWorks eDrawings to provide clear, navigable 3D visualisations of module designs for mechanics during assembly.

Using SolidWorks eDrawings, Lan | Abar installed six large screens in the assembly area that display interactive models (explode views, cross-sections and part isolation), giving mechanics instant access to up‑to‑date designs. SolidWorks’ solution cut reliance on A3 paper drawings, reduced paper waste, produced a marked reduction in assembly errors and saved significant production time through faster cross‑checking and fewer queries.
