Integrating industrial and mechanical design with solidworks industrial designer

Kablooē Design, a Minneapolis-based industrial design and product development firm, needed to better integrate industrial surface modeling with engineering solid modeling to shorten development cycles, reduce time-consuming rebuilds, and improve collaboration. To solve this challenge they adopted SolidWorks’ SOLIDWORKS Industrial Designer software to bridge freeform surfacing and parametric CAD workflows.

Using SOLIDWORKS Industrial Designer, SolidWorks enabled Kablooē to combine subD freeform modeling with parametric tools so designers produce surface geometry in hours instead of days, make design changes in minutes, and easily transfer data into SOLIDWORKS for detailing. The solution improved handoffs and cross-discipline collaboration and delivered measurable speed gains in concept development and change turnaround.
