A SolidWorks Case Study
Clover Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of single-stage and telescopic hydraulic cylinders, piston accumulators, and intensifiers, faced the challenge of integrating its design work with sister companies (including Oilgear and Leeds Valve) after acquisition. The company needed an easy-to-use product data management system to enable close multisite collaboration, shorten design cycles, reduce production errors, and formalize workflows — and evaluated solutions that worked tightly with its existing SolidWorks CAD environment.
Clover implemented SolidWorks Enterprise PDM (100 licenses), using replicated vaults and VPN access to share design data securely and enforce standardized workflows. With SolidWorks’ PDM integrated with their CAD tools, Clover cut product design cycles from six weeks to two (a 66 percent reduction), reduced shop errors and related costs by delivering current PDFs to production, improved cross-company collaboration, and achieved measurable productivity gains from estimating through production.
