Varian, Inc., a global supplier of scientific instruments and vacuum technologies, faced fragmented product development after using multiple CAD systems across its design groups. SolidWorks deployed 110 seats of SolidWorks Professional (with integrated PDM and later SolidWorks Flow Simulation and Simulation licenses), enabling Varian to consolidate design work on one platform. The SolidWorks solution improved surfacing and sheet-metal capabilities, eliminated costly IGES/STEP conversions and data-incompatibility issues, increased collaboration with vendors and partners, minimized file-translation design errors, and reorganized Varian’s development on a single CAD platform.
