How SolidWorks Helps Extremis Shape the Future of Furniture

Extremis, a Belgium-based designer and manufacturer of award-winning outdoor furniture, needed a faster, more accurate way to move from creative concept to production while cutting prototyping waste and ensuring parts were CNC-ready. To meet these challenges they turned to SolidWorks, using SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD (including Premium and Visualize) to model materials, test physics, and produce manufacturing-ready designs.

SolidWorks enabled Extremis to iterate designs in hours instead of days, perform virtual stress tests, and generate photorealistic marketing images straight from CAD, resulting in a huge reduction in physical prototypes and material waste and fewer supplier errors. By delivering CNC-ready files and built-in bill-of-materials data, SolidWorks shortened design cycles, lowered prototyping costs, and improved communication with suppliers—boosting productivity and accelerating time to market.
