A SolidWorks Case Study
Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) needed to move its Engineering Design Technology Program from 2D AutoCAD to industry-standard 3D tools so graduates would be job-ready. To address this, Mt. SAC adopted SolidWorks Education Edition and built the Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) and Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) exams into its curriculum.
Using SolidWorks, the college deployed 75 Education Edition licenses across intro, intermediate, and advanced courses, with the CSWA as a midterm and the CSWP as the final. About 80–90% of students pass certification, giving graduates verifiable skills that improve hiring prospects, speed integration with CAM/CNC workflows, and have supported expansion into a full Industrial Design/Manufacturing program.
