Case Study: Thiele Technologies cuts documentation from 40 hours to 5 minutes with SOLIDWORKS Composer (SolidWorks)

A SolidWorks Case Study

Helping customers service packaging machinery with SOLIDWORKS® Composer

Thiele Technologies, a global provider of high-speed packaging automation, faced a challenge: its 2D PDF drawings and BOMs were time-consuming to produce and difficult for customers and technicians to use for parts identification, servicing, and training. To address this, Thiele turned to SolidWorks and adopted SOLIDWORKS Composer software to create more intuitive 3D documentation.

Using SOLIDWORKS Composer from SolidWorks, Thiele replaced stacks of 2D PDFs with interactive 3D SMG files that reuse existing CAD data—cutting documentation time from roughly 40 hours to about five minutes. The SolidWorks solution improved parts identification and training, reduced travel and support costs, and gave customers faster access to part numbers and procedures, accelerating maintenance and minimizing downtime.
