The Posh Shed Company, a UK-based designer and manufacturer of configurable backyard and garden sheds, needed a way to add visual product configuration to its website so customers could design and see realistic 3D renders of custom sheds before ordering. To replace slow, phone-based configuration and improve the online shopping experience, the company chose SolidWorks’ SOLIDWORKS Sell online product configuration solution.

Using SOLIDWORKS Sell and existing 3D CAD data (integrated via the SOLIDWORKS API), The Posh Shed Company implemented a web-based configurator that generates live pricing, SKUs, and photo‑realistic renders. SolidWorks’ solution shortened inquiry-to-order time (improving cash flow), drove configuration activity for roughly 10% of web visits, supported tens of thousands of unique shed combinations, enabled online payment and ordering, and noticeably improved the customer shopping experience.
