Giaffone Racing, a Brazilian racing-vehicle and component manufacturer expanding from stock cars into off‑road rally markets, needed to streamline development, reduce component weight, and adopt emerging manufacturing methods. To meet that challenge the company extended its existing SolidWorks implementation by adding SolidWorks Simulation Professional topology optimization tools.

Using SolidWorks Simulation Professional alongside its SOLIDWORKS design and PDM tools, Giaffone Racing optimized the suspension upright to cut two months from the development cycle and reduce upright weight by 60% (from 3 kg to 1 kg). The SolidWorks-driven workflow produced lighter, stronger, stiffer parts in fewer iterations, supported both conventional and additive manufacturing (including planned titanium 3D printing), and helped Giaffone enter the rally‑race market.
