A SolidWorks Case Study
Getman Corporation, a global supplier of mobile equipment for the underground mining industry, faced the twin challenges of maintaining strict miner safety while reducing material and production costs, plus improving cross-department collaboration and revision control. To modernize their product development, Getman turned to SolidWorks, adopting SolidWorks CAD and Simulation early on and later adding SolidWorks PDM and SolidWorks Electrical to address design, testing and data-management gaps.
SolidWorks solutions enabled virtual FEA and motion analysis to cut prototypes and design iterations, reduce material costs without sacrificing safety, and standardize release workflows through PDM, raising product-data accuracy and engineering throughput. Adding SolidWorks Electrical automated wiring documentation (reducing tasks that once took days to seconds), streamlined mechatronic design, and delivered measurable time and cost savings across Getman’s development process.
