Eliminating airdrop system assembly issues with SOLIDWORKS Inspection

Wamore, Inc., an Arizona supplier of parachute-based airdrop systems for the U.S. military, was struggling with assembly problems caused by inconsistent incoming part inspections—inspectors relied on outdated 2D paper prints and sometimes inspected the wrong revisions or misinterpreted critical dimensions. To remove human error and standardize inspections, Wamore implemented SolidWorks’ SOLIDWORKS Inspection software, building on its existing SOLIDWORKS design, EPDM and Composer tools.

Integrated with SOLIDWORKS Enterprise PDM, the SolidWorks solution digitized inspection workflows, enforced lot- and revision-specific criteria, and gave inspectors instant green/pass or red/fail results. The change substantially reduced inspection overhead, dramatically improved inspection accuracy, enabled technicians to perform inspections instead of engineers, and eliminated the bulk of assembly issues while creating an inspection history for supplier trending and ISO-compliant processes.
