Effeffe Berlinetta A Car Of Yesterday, Conceived Today, Built in 3D CAD

Effeffe Berlinetta, an Italian sports car project inspired by classic Ferrari-era roadsters, needed a way to recreate a hand-built vehicle in a repeatable, production-ready form. Working with SolidWorks and the3DGroup, the team had to turn an artisan-built design into a digital model that could support accurate engineering, fabrication, and future small-series manufacturing.

SolidWorks was used for digital prototyping, kinematics checks, sheet metal and tube-frame design, BOM generation, and simulation, while reverse engineering and 3D scanning captured the body geometry and corrected manual imperfections. The result was a validated design with no physical prototypes needed, a first frame that was “already perfect,” and a production plan for about 20 cars per year at an estimated price of €350,000 each.
