Case Study: JL Racing achieves 70% faster design cycles and lighter, faster racecars with SOLIDWORKS

A SolidWorks Case Study

Preview of the JL Racing Case Study

Driving racecar design into the winner’s circle with solidworks solutions

JL Racing, the leading racecar manufacturer in Brazil, needed to move beyond AutoCAD 2D and an unsatisfactory Pro/ENGINEER trial to support growth, surfacing, simulation and product data management. To accelerate development and reduce prototyping, JL Racing adopted SolidWorks (Professional, Premium and Enterprise PDM) as its integrated 3D design platform.

Using SolidWorks design, simulation and PDM tools, JL Racing cut design cycles by more than 70%, halved suspension weight, reduced the number of prototypes tenfold, and shortened chassis production from 10 days to four hours—while improving car aesthetics, safety and overall throughput and enabling better communication with partners via eDrawings.
