Case Study: MotoCzysz achieves 200 mph, 20% lighter race‑winning electric motorcycle with SolidWorks

A SolidWorks Case Study

Preview of the Motoczysz Case Study

Driving design of the world’s fastest electric racing motorcycle with SolidWorks

Motoczysz, an Oregon-based developer of electric racing motorcycles, needed to accelerate, optimize, and stylize development of the world’s fastest electric racing bike. To meet that challenge the company turned to SolidWorks, adopting SolidWorks Professional, SolidWorks Premium and SolidWorks Flow Simulation design, analysis and CFD tools.

Using SolidWorks’ integrated design, analysis and surfacing tools, Motoczysz reduced the E1pc’s weight by 20%, cut the number of batteries required by more than 90% while producing industry-leading, energy-dense battery packs, improved aerodynamics and aesthetics, and supported a top-winning race team with bikes that routinely reach 200 mph. SolidWorks’ simulation and surfacing capabilities delivered these measurable gains in performance, efficiency and design.
