Creating Ergonomic Baby Essentials With SolidWorks

B.Box, founded by Monique Filer and Danielle Michaels, set out to redesign baby essentials after a difficult diaper-change experience revealed how poorly many products fit infants’ developmental needs. Because designing for growing babies required intensive ergonomic testing and rapid iteration, B.Box adopted SolidWorks 3D design and prototyping software to model, prototype and validate product functionality for their young users.

Using SolidWorks, the team quickly turned observational research into tangible, testable designs—resulting in innovations like a patented “flork” toddler cutlery set and award-winning silicone lids—while speeding feedback and production-ready tooling. The SolidWorks-enabled process helped B.Box grow to 20 products sold in 800 stores across Australia and in over 35 countries, earning spots on the Financial Times 1000 Asia‑Pacific high-growth list (#52) and multiple industry awards.
