Breaking the World’s Fastest Motorcycle Record With SolidWorks Software

BUB Enterprises Inc, led by Denis “BUB” Manning, faced the challenge of designing, manufacturing and testing an aerodynamic, high‑power motorcycle capable of capturing the motorcycle land speed record. To meet complex requirements for custom engine design, aerodynamics and structural analysis, BUB Enterprises Inc turned to SolidWorks, using the SolidWorks 3D design system along with SolidWorks Simulation and eDrawings for visualization, analysis and design communication.

Using SolidWorks, the five‑person BUB team modeled and optimized the SEVEN streamliner—including a custom V‑4 engine and refined bodywork—enabling simulation-driven design that reduced prototype testing and development costs. The result: the SEVEN established the motorcycle land speed record at 367.382 mph (and was the first motorcycle to exceed 350 mph in 2006), delivering world‑record performance and measurable reductions in testing and development effort thanks to SolidWorks.
