A SolidWorks Case Study
Bowhead Corp, co‑founded by inventor Christian Bagg, set out to develop the Reach — an innovative, powered hybrid ATV/mountain bike that enables people with disabilities to access mountain trails and the outdoors. Facing complex configurations, carbon‑fiber 3D‑printed assemblies and a tight timeline, Bowhead turned to SolidWorks, using SOLIDWORKS for Entrepreneurs design, simulation and visualization tools to complete the project.
By combining SolidWorks software with carbon‑fiber 3D printing, Bowhead slashed prototyping cycles and cut its development timeline by a full year, delivering the Reach sooner and at lower cost. SolidWorks capabilities — including multi‑body “Lego” assembly design, topology and simulation studies, plus Composer and Visualize for documentation and imagery — let Bowhead iterate quickly, improve durability and performance, and expand outdoor access for disabled riders.
