Bailey’s Caravan Increases Production Efficiency by 80 Percent with SOLIDWORKS

Bailey, a family-run British caravan and motor home maker with over 65 years in the industry, was struggling to design increasingly complex interiors using 2D CAD. To meet rising customer expectations and reduce the time and cost of iterative physical prototypes, Bailey turned to SolidWorks’ 3D CAD tools, including SolidWorks Simulation and SolidWorks Composer, to modernise its design process.

SolidWorks delivered a virtual design environment, searchable 3D part libraries, simulation-based material optimisation and exploded assembly instructions, allowing Bailey to replace many costly prototypes and iterate designs faster. As a result Bailey reported an 80% increase in production efficiency, significant material savings, fewer assembly errors, faster marketing-ready renderings, and growth of the design team from 6 to 36.
