A SolidWorks Case Study
Bioprocessors Corp, a leader in high-throughput biopharmaceutical process development, faced increasing complexity with its SimCell automation and microbioreactor products and struggled with translation errors, lack of dynamic PDM, and no integrated finite-element or mold analysis while using Autodesk Inventor. Seeking greater speed, accuracy, lower costs, and better compatibility with partners, Bioprocessors evaluated several CAD systems and selected SolidWorks, purchasing one seat of SolidWorks Premium and four seats of SolidWorks Professional.
SolidWorks supplied integrated 3D CAD, mold design/draft analysis, SolidWorks Simulation for internal FEA, and PDM tools (Vault/Standalone Client and eDrawings), allowing Bioprocessors to simulate mold fills, run stress analyses in-house, and share design data across the organization. As a result, Bioprocessors Corp reduced development cycles for molded components by 20–35%, minimized design errors, eliminated subcontracted analysis costs, and improved the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of partner interactions using SolidWorks.
