A SolidWorks Case Study
Hadley, a Tier‑1 and Tier‑2 supplier of heavy‑truck, transit and specialty vehicle components, needed to move from AutoCAD 2D to a 3D development platform to support more injection‑molded plastics, rubber and stamped‑metal products and to streamline product and tooling development. To address this, Hadley implemented SolidWorks solutions — including SolidWorks Standard, Professional, Premium, SolidWorks Simulation, and SolidWorks Flow Simulation — to improve modeling, analysis and collaboration with customers and suppliers.
Using SolidWorks, Hadley reduced its mold and tooling development process by 20%, improved tooling accuracy, cut physical prototyping needs, and decreased the number of parts in assemblies; SolidWorks Flow Simulation improved mirror aerodynamics and SolidWorks Simulation validated lighter valve designs. These improvements sped time‑to‑market, lowered iteration and rework costs (avoiding costly tool fixes), and enhanced communication with moldmakers, customers and suppliers.
