A SolidWorks Case Study
Sanjel Corporation, the largest privately owned oilfield services company in Canada, needed to improve responsiveness, quality, flexibility and speed in its equipment development as oil and gas activity accelerated. To move beyond 2D tools, Sanjel evaluated and standardized on SolidWorks, adopting SolidWorks 3D CAD plus integrated SolidWorks Simulation, SolidWorks Flow Simulation and SolidWorks eDrawings to support faster, more accurate design and communication.
Using SolidWorks, Sanjel implemented 3D modeling, virtual prototyping, structural and fluid-flow simulation, and eDrawings-based field communications. The SolidWorks-driven approach cut design time by 40%, reduced development costs by 25%, decreased scrap by 50%, lowered prototyping costs by about 25%, and shortened development of a specialized SCM cementing skid from two years to six months while improving communication with operations personnel.
