Case Study: Elastx achieves predictable high-performance cloud hosting with SolidFire

Elastx, a Stockholm-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) hosting provider, needed a new cloud platform that could deliver SSD-based performance, linear scalability, high availability, and predictable service levels without the limits of legacy storage. To build its hosting environment from the ground up, Elastx chose SolidFire to power its PaaS offerings and support both test/dev and enterprise workloads.

SolidFire implemented an all-flash, scale-out storage platform with guaranteed performance, deduplication, and sub-millisecond latency, integrating with Elastx’s cloud stack to support automated deployment and rapid scaling. As a result, Elastx gained a highly available, predictable hosting experience and reduced the “noisy neighbor” problem; one customer even saw database query latency drop from 350 ms to around 2 ms.
