Hosted Network, an Australia-based cloud service provider, needed storage that could handle the demanding, multi-tenant performance requirements of its white-label VMware Horizon Desktop as a Service (DaaS) offering. Its existing disk-based and hybrid storage could not scale fast enough or deliver consistent performance for VDI workloads, where boot storms, antivirus scans, and maintenance spikes are common. SolidFire provided the all-flash storage platform to support this next-generation service.

SolidFire implemented an SF3010 system with 48TB of effective capacity, giving Hosted Network guaranteed QoS, inline deduplication, and a scale-out design. The result was predictable performance, easier automation, improved availability, and the ability to grow node by node without large upfront costs. SolidFire also helped reduce storage footprint and TCO, while enabling faster desktop provisioning and supporting Hosted Network’s expansion in Australia and New Zealand.
