Case Study: Mercado Libre achieves 25x lower latency with NetApp SolidFire

Mercado Libre, the Latin American e-commerce leader operating in 13 countries, needed to fix slow, unpredictable storage performance in its OpenStack private cloud. Its MySQL, MongoDB, and other workloads were struggling to meet latency and scalability requirements, and the company turned to SolidFire for a high-performance, scale-out flash storage solution.

SolidFire implemented a NetApp SolidFire all-flash system with native OpenStack integration, QoS, and remote replication to support granular scaling without downtime. The results were immediate: latency dropped from about 50 ms to around 2 ms, variable latency was eliminated, and data reduction reached 6.5x, helping Mercado Libre reduce data center footprint, power use, and cooling needs.
