A Solidatus Case Study
The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) was driving adoption of BCBS 239, which requires banks to improve risk data aggregation, reporting, and data lineage documentation. The challenge was that lineage efforts were proving far more complex, time-consuming, and resource-intensive than expected, while many existing governance tools lacked the flexibility, usability, and version control needed to manage evolving data journeys and controls.
Solidatus provided a platform to rapidly capture, store, and visually represent data lineage alongside supporting metadata, including controls and glossary terms. With Solidatus, BCBS could model lineage at a granular level, support federated governance and version control, and link metadata across models to improve transparency and control. The result was a more user-friendly, enterprise-scale approach that helped reduce compliance risk and better demonstrate data journey knowledge, though the case study does not cite specific numeric outcomes.
