Willingshofer GmbH, an industrial equipment manufacturer, faced challenges with a legacy CAD system that had decisive weaknesses, particularly in creating associative models and ensuring compatibility for their custom machinery designs. To overcome this and achieve right-first-time design for complex projects like a parquet floorboard production line, they adopted Solid Edge software from Siemens.

Using Solid Edge for 3D CAD, along with NX CAM and Mechatronics Concept Designer for simulation and manufacturing, provided a comprehensive solution. This allowed Willingshofer to create fully associative models, easily import and modify customer data for contract manufacturing, and validate kinematic design concepts early.
