Truck manufacturer achieves competitive advantage using Siemens Digital Industries Software solution for product development

GIF Modul, a special‑vehicle manufacturer in Aszód, Hungary, was struggling with the limitations of 2D design when creating unique trucks with cranes, winches and aerial platforms—complex assemblies with many moving parts and strict, individualized customer requirements. To modernize its product development, GIF Modul implemented Siemens Digital Industries Software’s Solid Edge (starting with Solid Edge 2D Drafting and upgrading to Solid Edge 3D).

Using Solid Edge’s 3D modeling, sheet‑metal and welding tools, integrated PDM and motion simulation, GIF Modul sped up design of complex assemblies, validated motion and safety, and reused parts more effectively. As a result, Solid Edge reduced design time, shortened delivery times, increased customer satisfaction and competitive advantage, and enabled higher production output with the same staffing.
