Tread Corp. - Customer Case Study

Tread Corp. manufactures bulk explosives handling equipment for mining, quarry and construction customers worldwide and must meet stringent safety regulations, widely varying customer specifications across 30+ countries, and frequent late changes with short lead times. To address these challenges they adopted Solid Edge (Solid Edge with synchronous technology from Siemens Digital Industries Software) as their primary CAD tool for designing fabricated components and modeling third‑party equipment.

Using Solid Edge’s synchronous technology, Tread designers can make fast, history‑free edits, reuse imported CAD data easily, and move faces or assemblies on the fly without rebuilding long feature trees. The result: new designs are completed in about half the time compared with history‑based modeling, roughly 50% of designers now work fully synchronously, and Solid Edge has significantly accelerated revisions and reduced iteration time to better meet customer requirements.
