Transition to 3D CAD software with built-in core technologies

Macron Associate Co., a Taiwan-based LED lighting specialist supplying turnkey products to OEMs/ODMs, needed to transition to 3D CAD software with robust, non-proprietary core technologies to meet the drawing and customization demands of mid- and high-end customers. To address this, Macron adopted Solid Edge and Solid Edge CAM Pro (with professional support from partner CADEX Technology) to give designers easy-to-use tools plus synchronous and sequential modeling capabilities.

Using Solid Edge’s combination of synchronous and sequential modeling and Solid Edge CAM Pro for 3-axis machining, Macron cut modification time for moderately complex drawings by half or more, enabled synchronous updates across mold and part data (updating sizes of 10 parts simultaneously), and reduced some mold drawings to about three minutes. The vendor’s solutions also improved sample-production quality and speed—supporting roughly 1,000 proofs annually—and delivered measurable time and productivity gains for Macron.
