Tractor manufacturer eliminates physical prototypes and cuts time-to-market

Venture Products Inc., maker of Ventrac compact tractors and commercial-grade attachments, needed to protect product quality and reputation while shortening time-to-market. The company struggled with 2D AutoCAD workflows that hid part interferences, forced multiple physical prototypes, and slowed design iterations. To overcome these challenges Venture Products Inc. adopted Solid Edge 3D CAD software (including synchronous technology).

Solid Edge enabled Venture to convert legacy 2D data to 3D, eliminate physical prototypes, and speed design work using synchronous technology and the Solid Edge SP design‑management solution. As a result parts fit together on first assembly, legacy 2D designs were fully leveraged, 2D‑to‑3D conversion and new design work are about six times faster, a large conversion project dropped from 12–14 weeks to 8 weeks, a simple part conversion shrank from ~2 minutes to <10 seconds, and a typical revision task was reduced from over an hour to 15 minutes.
