A Solid Edge Case Study
Te-shin Cam Co., Ltd is a Taiwan-based CAM tool specialist founded in 1980 that produces critical components such as automatic tool changers and intervallic cutters, with a monthly output up to 3,500 units and about 85% share of its local market. Facing difficulty handling real-time customer design changes and slow, hierarchical CAD workflows, Te-shin sought an integrated design-to-manufacturing solution and adopted Solid Edge (with synchronous technology and the 5‑axis machining capability of CAM Express) to modernize its R&D and CAD processes.
Solid Edge enabled Te-shin to import and manage legacy CAD data alongside native models, simplify modifications, and speed drafting—reducing the time to produce 3D exploded views from three days to one—while synchronous modeling kept part and assembly drawings automatically consistent to cut errors and miscommunication. As a result, Solid Edge shortened design and modification cycles, improved acceptance of 3D workflows across the company, and strengthened Te-shin’s ability to meet high‑precision customer requirements.
