Solid Edge with synchronous technology permits a new level of design fine-tuning

Back Cove Yachts, a Maine builder of 26–37 ft motorized yachts, struggled with a customer- and dealer-driven design process that required frequent layout changes and left designers away from CAD for weeks at a time—making history-based modeling slow and cumbersome. To overcome this, Back Cove Yachts adopted Solid Edge with synchronous technology.

Using Solid Edge’s synchronous technology (including the interactive “steering wheel” for direct geometry edits), designers can make rapid on-the-fly changes—small adjustments like half-inch bulkhead moves that used to be time-consuming are now done quickly. The solution enabled more design iterations, increased productivity and creativity, faster response to dealer/customer input, and more time to refine boat aesthetics.
